Councillor Kenny was appointed to the Authority in June 2016 by Wirral Borough Council where he represents Bidston and St James Ward.  He has responsibility within Wirral Council, for answering questions on the discharge of the functions of the Authority.

Councillor Kenny is a Member of the Labour Group on the Authority and in June 2019 was appointed as joint Vice-Chair of the Authority.

He serves as Chair of the Community Safety and Protection Committee; and is also appointed to the Appeals Committee, the Appointments Committee; and the Joint Fire & Police Committee.
