The Local Government Association (LGA) are a politically-led, cross-party organisation that aims to influence Government on behalf of, and provide a unified voice for, local authorities.
412 local authorities were members of the LGA for 2012/13. This included local councils, fire, national park, passenger transport and police authorities, plus one town council.
