Preliminary Matters

Members are requested to consider the identification of:

 

a)  declarations of interest by individual Members in relation to any item of business on the Agenda

 

b)  any additional items of business which the Chair has determined should be considered as matters of urgency; and

 

c)  items of business which may require the exclusion of the press and public during consideration thereof because of the possibility of the disclosure of exempt information.

 

Minutes:

Members considered the identification of any declarations of interest, matters of urgency or items that would require the exclusion of the press and public due to the disclosure of exempt information.

 

Resolved that:

 

a)  no declarations of interest were made by individual Members in relation to any item of business on the Agenda

 

b)  no additional items of business were determined by the Chair to be considered as matters of urgency; and

 

c) the following Item required the exclusion of the press and public, due to the disclosure of exempt information:

 

·         Agenda Item 3 – “Provision of Travel Management Services”

 

This report contains EXEMPT information by virtue of Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

 

 

Members were advised of the reasons for calling this meeting under the urgency provisions contained within the Constitution at Standing Order 17.1

 

With regards to Agenda Item 2 – “Disposal of 4 Westbourne Grove, West Kirby”, Members were informed that the buyer of the property is keen for the sale to progress as soon as possible.

 

In relation to Agenda Item 3 – “Provision of Travel Management Services”, Members were advised that the contract with our current supplier, is due to expire on 30th November 2018, however the next scheduled decision making committee meeting is not until the 13th December 2018.

To consider Report CFO/071/18 of the Chief Fire Officer, concerning the sale of 4 Wetbourne Grove, West Kirby.

Members considered Report CFO/071/18 of the Chief Fire Officer, concerning the sale of 4 Westbourne Grove, West Kirby.

 

Members were provided with an overview of the report, which highlighted the reasons for selling the property.

 

Members were informed that the property has been rented out since 2014 and where advised of a potential issue regarding the termination of the tenancy.

 

With regards to the sale price, Members were advised that the property was initially valued below this, however officers felt that it was undervalued. Following discussions with the estate agents, the property was subsequently marketed at £415,000; and an offer has been made at the full asking price. 

 

 

Members Resolved that:

 

The sale of 4 Westbourne Grove, West Kirby for £415,000, be approved.

Provision of Travel Management Services Authority Report

To consider Report CFO/075/18 of the Chief Fire Officer, concerning the award of contract for travel management services.

 

This report contains EXEMPT information by virtue of Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Minutes:

Members considered Report CFO/075/18 of the Chief Fire Officer, concerning the award of contract for Travel Management Services to Diversity travel Limited.

 

Members were informed that we currently have a system for the booking of travel and accommodation, provided by Click Travel Ltd.

 

They were advised that the contract with Click Travel will expire on 30th November 2018; and although we could have looked to extend the current contract, it is no longer deemed to be suitable, due to the increased number of bookings MFRA are now making, mainly as a result of MFRA gaining responsibility for National Resilience.

 

Members were further advised that the awarding of a new contract will be under a framework.

 

 

Members Resolved that:

 

the award of contract for Travel Management Services to Diversity Travel Limited for the period 1st December 2018 to 30th November 2020 with the option to extend for a further 2 years, be approved.
