Councillor Makinson was appointed to the Authority in June 2018 by Liverpool City Council, where he represents Church Ward.

Councillor Makinson is a member, and Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on the Authority; and is the appointed Opposition Spokesperson.

Councillor Makinson is currently appointed to the Policy & Resources Committee, Scrutiny Committee; and Audit Committee.
