This Committee was established to review
and/or scrutinise decisions made or actions taken in connection
with the discharge of any of the Authority’s functions. This
can be in relation to policy objectives, performance targets and/or
particular service areas. The Committee carries out joint
Member/Officer pre and post-implementation scrutiny of any major
project. The Committee writes reports and makes recommendations to
any of the other committees or the Authority on the outcomes of the
scrutiny process and how any improvements can be made.
This Committee ensures that questions are
asked about performance, value for money and public interest.
